Ten years ago they had to change Digital Angel back to a bracelet because the public wouldn't accept an implant...partially due to fears of "the mark" (and other non-religious and equally valid reasons such as privacey etc.). Now they are just plain throwing it in your face.
The original marketed implantable bio chip (also a majority owner of VeriChip/Xmark). Digital Angel started out back around '98 as an implantable chip. Not accepted by the public at the time and changed to a wrist watch type bracelet. They since have switched it back to it's original implantable version since people have become more accepting of such things.
